How To Change Your Mini iPods Hard Drive
You have bought the ever increasing popular iPod mini. But by accident you drop it or get water on it. You turn it on but, although the screen turns on, it is broken. The hard drive is totally unrepairable. But why go out and buy a brand new iPod mini, wasting a lot of money when you can replace the hard drive at a cheaper cost. Here i will be guiding you through the steps on how to change you Ipod mini's Hard Drive. But be warned if you do change the Ipod mini's hard drive your warranty with apple is destroyed and you may, if done badly, damage you iPod even more.
Step 1 : Open the case VERY gently, using a screw driver, preferably flat head.
Step 2 : With the iPod's back facing you, open the case making sure the ribbon wire stays connected.
Step 3 :The hard drive will be quite noticeable. It will be the object surrounded by bumpers. Take the hard drive out, this will be easy. But remember to not disconnect the ribbon plug.
Step 4 :With the hard drive now out of the iPod mini, using a knife, scrape out the foam bumpers. But keep this foam for it will be useful later on so when taking it of try and take it off in one piece if possible.
Step 5 :Find out what type of model your hard drive is. It should say on the hard drive it self. Other model may also fit but you should always research it just in case you buy a new hard drive and it doesn't fit.
Step 6 :Then glue the bumpers and foam bake into place before placing the hard drive into its correct place.
Step 7 :Once you have close up your iPod, you have to connect it to you computer.
Step 8 :Choose the RESTORE button on the iPod updater, once opened or if you haven't already got, download it.
Step 9 : Now fully charge you Ipod.
Step 10 :Have fun and enjoy listening to music on your renewed and good-as-new iPod mini.
I wish you the best luck and I hope you are successful in fixing your iPod.
